Cashback scheme

Under the NSW Government's Cashback scheme, motorists can claim back M5 tolls (excluding GST and other fees). Also, Cashback claims for the M4 can be made for tolls paid before 16 February 2010.

Rebates must be claimed within 12 calendar months of the end of the Cashback quarter.

To qualify

  • you must be a resident of NSW
  • drive on the M5 in a vehicle registered in NSW for private use (with registration papers showing, for example, 'private general', 'charitable', or 'pensioner'). Business registered vehicles supplied as part of a remuneration package are not eligible for Cashback
  • have a tag account that works with M5 such as the Roam e-TAG Account
  • you must let us know you want to register for Cashback when you open your e-TAG Account

How to claim

To claim Cashback simply complete the Cashback form (download from the RTA web site) and attach the usage statement that we send you quarterly if you've registered with us for the scheme.

Roam e-TAG Accounts and Cashback

Apply for a Roam e-TAG Account and you can register for M5 Cashback. Please note that e-PASS accounts do not qualify for M5 Cashback. A Roam e-PASS account is only valid for travel on Westlink M7.
