What is distance based tolling?
Westlink M7 uses a distance-based tolling system. Distance-based tolling means that there will be different tolls charged for trips of different lengths - making Westlink M7 good value for short and long trips.
The tolling system uses a ‘cents per kilometre’ rate that is capped after 20kms and varies between vehicle types. This means that even if a motorist travels the full 40kms of the Westlink M7, they will be charged no more than if they had only driven 20kms.
You can calculate your toll road travel costs using the Roads and Maritime Services Sydney Motorways Toll Calculator.
